TonyView Kip Capacity Calculator

Estimate whether a TonyView corner can support your configuration based on stories, room size, construction type, wind zone, and post height. This is a preliminary tool — final sizing must be confirmed by a licensed engineer.

Inputs

This represents the plan area (room or roof) at the corner. The calculator assumes the corner supports one quarter of this area for gravity loads. For wind, both faces of the corner are considered based on the larger of these two lengths and the post height.

Heavier floor adds about +10 psf to the calculation.

Heavier wall adds about +5 psf more than standard.

Heavier roof adds about +10 psf compared to asphalt shingles.

Snow load is added on top of the roof load and applied only to the roof tributary area.

This tool uses simplified, conservative assumptions (psf defaults for floors, walls, roofs, snow, and wind) and is intended for preliminary sizing only. Final structural design, including wind and impact requirements, must be confirmed by a licensed engineer and TonyView engineering.
